I ‘ve been using Reaper from Cockos 3 years now. And I have to say that I am very pleased.Everything is working like the first day, the price is amazing (for what the software offers), it is updated constantly, no hiccups, no hassle…

Before Reaper I have tested Apple Logic, Cakewalk 4, Cubase 2 (on Atari ST). I also tried a lot of freeware and open source DAWs. But no luck! For me the most frustrated thing was the price. Everything was to expensive for a simple composer, who has no income from music and wanted to have a good tool to make music. Now Apple has realized this and dropped the price of Logic to 150 euros (which is awesome for this kind of software). But you ‘ve got to have an Apple computer which costs a lot. I don’t say that it is not good, but I think it is overpriced. Even Mac Mini (the lower PC from Apple) is costing too much.

So, welcome to Reaper. As the Reaper site say “REAPER works with almost any hardware and can be used in combination with a vast universe of other software and plug-ins.  Take advantage of REAPER’s full functionality using only your current computer and a microphone, or use REAPER to drive an entire professional recording studio. ” For me these are the advantages to go for Reaper.

And it works! It loads in a few seconds, it is compatible with ALL the plugins that there are available and it sounds great.

So go for Reaper. You won’t regret it.
